About isitfodmap.com

isitfodmap.com is a free, no-signup educational FODMAP food lookup and guide hub built for practical food checks. Type a common food into the search bar and get a Low / Moderate / High FODMAP verdict, a portion note, a contextual swap, and related beginner guides.

Why this exists

IBS is common, and low-FODMAP guidance can be hard to use in real life because the categories are unintuitive: apples and pears are often limited, while bananas and oranges may be easier for many people. Most existing tools are paid apps with walled-garden data. We built isitfodmap.com as a free, fast, public lookup that lives one search query away.

How the data is sourced

Food categorizations are drawn from publicly-available clinical and academic sources, including published FODMAP guidance and peer-reviewed clinical literature on IBS dietary management. We are not affiliated with Monash University and do not use proprietary Monash app data — our database is built from general categorizations widely published in clinical guidance.

How we make money

The lookup stays free. Some resource pages may include affiliate links for optional products people already compare while shopping. Affiliate links do not control food verdicts, guide recommendations, or correction decisions.

Corrections and updates

Food data and FODMAP classifications can change over time as new information becomes available. If you believe a page contains an error or outdated information, email hi@isitfodmap.com with the food, serving, source, and suggested correction so we can review it.

Not medical advice

This is an informational tool. Individual FODMAP tolerance varies widely. Work with a qualified clinician or registered dietitian for personalized dietary planning, especially during elimination, reintroduction, severe symptoms, or changing symptoms.
